Give your life cycle studies a Halloween twist with this set of foldouts. This resources features templates for the life cycles of a bat, owl, pumpkin and spider. You could use them to compare the life histories of a bird, mammal, plant and arachnid. They are also great for interactive science notebook or as science centres. Each life cycle has options that allow you to differentiate for your pupils. Spider life cycle There are 3 options so you can select and print the one that best suits your needs and differentiate for your students if required: Colour the template, cut and fold. Colour, sequence the simple life cycle name labels, glue cut and fold. Colour, sequence the life cycle stage description labels, glue cut and fold. This is the option in the preview video. Pumpkin life cycle There are 4 pages to choose from: Colour, cut and fold. Colour, arrange the stages of the pumpkin life cycle, glue, cut and fold. A science craft activity which can be differentiated if required. Use to support learning about ecosystems, feeding relationships and habitats. This resource has templates for 3 food chains (lion, grizzly bear and shark). For each one there are 3 similar options; Colour the pre-designed template, with animals and plants already included and fold. Colour the food chain, sequence the animals/plants to show who eats who, glue them onto the template, cut and fold. As above but with a simpler, straight cutting edge. Once folded, pupils can hide their food chain by bringing the 2 halves of the template together, then gently pull apart to reveal the inside (see preview video). There is minimal prep required. Print the designs you plan to use on paper or card. Students need coloured pencils, scissors and glue. Instructions for how to fold are included (you may wish to make an example beforehand for those who might find folding tricky). There is a version for both US and UK spelling/paper size.

These fun foldouts are a memorable way of teaching the planets in our solar system and the phases of the moon. Use as a science centre, for an interactive notebook or to support learning/lessons around space, including World Space Week. Sequencing the planets There are 3 similar template options to choose from: Students colour the template with the planets in order (from nearest to the sun to furthest away). They also colour the 2 halves of the space scene. They then cut out the template and space scene, glue the space scene to the top and bottom of the template, then fold. The second option is the same, but students will cut out and order the planets before gluing and folding. For the third option, students match simple facts to each of the planets before cutting and folding. Phases of the moon This printable activity has 4 options for you to choose from so that you can best match the needs of your students: Template 1: Colour the phases of the moon, cut, glue and fold. Template 2 (print in colour): Identify the phases of the moon, write them on the template, glue, cut and fold.
